In the first three weeks of the war, more than three million Ukrainians fled to surrounding countries, 1.5 million of them children. A large number of people are also fleeing within Ukraine, trying to get from the eastern parts of the country to the west.
Some refugees find a place to stay with friends and family, some spend the night in refugee accommodation, some wait at airports and train stations for a ride.
