Ukraine seeks F-16 and Eurofighter Typhoon help in fight against Russia

Ukraine call for help fighter jets F-16 to help fight the Russians in the air. Apart from that, it turns out that they also hope to get another advanced fighter jet, namely Eurofighter Typhoon.

Reznikov added that Ukraine needs about a hundred fighter jets. Apart from the F-16, he said the Eurofighter Typhoon would be very helpful in fending off Russian aggression.

“The majority should be made up of F-16s, of which there are more than five thousand in the world. However, Eurofighters and (Swedish warplanes) Gripen will also help us,” Reznikov said.

He added that Ukraine would welcome Germany’s participation in the training of Ukrainian pilots on board Eurofighter Typhoon.

“Our British partner is ready to offer the Eurofighter training course for Ukraine, and we are currently discussing with Swedish friends how to start training on the Saab Gripen aircraft,” Reznikov said.

But of course that hope is still far away, because even the F-16 itself is not yet known which country will be supplied to Ukraine. The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine fighter made in Europe.

The Typhoon was designed as an air superiority fighter and manufactured by a consortium of Airbus, BAE Systems and Leonardo which is housed by the joint parent company, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is known as a very agile fighter jet, designed to be an effective fighter in battle. The new versions of the aircraft are better designed to perform air-to-surface missions and to be compatible with different armaments, including Storm Shadow, Brimstone and Marte ER missiles.

The Typhoon made its combat debut during the 2011 military intervention in Libya. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Italian Air Force, conducted aerial reconnaissance and ground attack missions in the conflict.
