Ukraine allocated only 9 million from the planned humanitarian aid – UN

The UN requested this amount to help Donbass, but in the end, much less was allocated to Ukraine.

The UN called on donors to fully finance humanitarian aid to Ukraine, since at the moment, out of the $ 168 million requested by the UN, a little more than $ 9 million has been allocated to help Donbass to Ukraine. About it informs Voice of America on Thursday 8 April.

As the representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Duzharik recalled, the recent shelling damaged the power line near the South Donbass water pipeline. More than a million people in 50 settlements were left without water supply.

“Although the damage to the power lines was quickly repaired, we urge all parties not to strike at the critical water supply infrastructure in eastern Ukraine. We also urge to ensure unconditional access to humanitarian aid for those who need it,” Duzharik stressed.

Recall that earlier Ukraine appealed to the UN Security Council over Donbass… Ukraine called on to put pressure on Russia due to the aggravation in the Donbass and the buildup of the military presence near the border.

Then at the UN commented on the situation in Donbass… The United Nations called for a reduction in tensions on the contact line in the Donbas.
