We cannot imagine what has swept through Ukraine. It’s a memento: look at it so that no one claims that it was perfect, says photographer and former journalist Jan Dobrovský. Together with Karel Cudlín and Martin Wagner, he captured the transformation of Ukraine in the picture book Lost Europe. We knew we were taking pictures of our own sentiments through it. People focus more on pleasures than on responsibility for their own lives, he says.
