Ukraine Destroys Russian Experimental Drone Jamming System Kop-2
Kiev – ukrainian forces have successfully neutralized a notable experimental Russian electronic warfare complex, designated as Kop-2, which was developed to counter Ukrainian drones. The destruction of this system leaves a key area previously defended by Russian components vulnerable.
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which many had hoped would transition to peace negotiations, continues with both sides holding firm to their demands. In a recent advancement, Ukrainian units have achieved a notable success by eliminating a Russian facility crucial for defending occupied territories.
According to reports from the Svarog Battalion of Ukrainian forces specializing in unmanned systems, the experimental Russian Kop-2 electronic warfare complex was destroyed on a front line.This system was designed to scan ether waves over a wide area, identifying frequencies used by unmanned drones. Its intended function was to disrupt these frequencies and disable the drones.
The deployment of the Kop-2 represented another effort by Russian forces to develop an effective countermeasure against Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles. The Svarog Battalion characterized the Kop-2 as an expensive and valuable asset utilized by the occupiers to protect critical infrastructure, particularly air defense systems.
The battalion stated that the initial accurate strike was sufficient to disable the system, with a subsequent attack leading to its complete destruction. This accomplished operation by Ukrainian forces marks a significant blow to Russia’s drone defense capabilities.
