Ukraine calls urgent UN Security Council meeting due to pseudo-referendum in the occupied territories

In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Russia has organized pseudo-referends, which will last from 23 to 27 September.

The occupying country must be held accountable for attempts to change Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders contrary to the UN Charter. That is why Ukraine is calling for an urgent convening of the UN Security Council. This was announced on Saturday 24 September by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko in Twitter.

“Ukraine has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with Russia’s holding of bogus referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Russia must be held accountable for further attempts to change Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders in violation of the UN Charter, “he wrote.

Previous media reported this draft laws on the entry of the occupied territories into the Russian Federation it can be presented to the State Duma on the evening of September 28 and Putin can deliver a message to the Federal Assembly on September 30.
