A mother of four, Deborah Mason, has been sentenced too 20 years in prison for her role in a notable drug trafficking operation. The network, which involved her children, some of whom were accompanied by their own children during drug deliveries, was highly lucrative. Investigators revealed that each participant could earn up to £1,000 (approximately €1,150) daily.
Among the expenses uncovered by investigators were luxury items purchased for Mason’s cat and a planned trip to Türkiye for cosmetic surgery. The judge presiding over the case expressed strong disapproval of Mason’s actions, stating during the sentencing, “You have recruited members of your own family – as a mother, you should have given an example to your children and not to corrupt them.”
Prosecutor Charlotte Hole indicated that Mason did not coerce her family members into participating, noting, “They were all motivated by a financial advantage.” Mason’s conviction was for class A drug trafficking, the most hazardous category of drugs.
