UK to hold G7 summit’face-to-face’ in June… Invitation to India, Korea and Australia | Voice of America

The UK decided to hold the G7 Summit in 7 major countries in the coming June in a’face-to-face’ manner.

In a statement on the 16th, the UK, the chairman of this year’s G7 Summit, officially announced that the G7 Summit will be held from June 11 to 13 at Carvis Bay, a resort in Cornwall in southern England.

The British government also said it would invite Australia, India and South Korea to promote cooperation among democratic countries.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “As a leading democracy, the G7 has played a key role in major international decisions to address our greatest challenges.” You said you have to deal with the challenge.

He emphasized, “I hope that a sustainable agreement can be reached so that the global economy and the free trade system can recover from the corona crisis.”

Leaders are expected to address key issues such as overcoming the novel coronavirus, global economic recovery, and climate change at this meeting.

This year’s G7 Summit is expected to be the first multilateral summit to be attended by US President-elect Joe Biden, who will take office on the 20th.

The G7 Summit was scheduled to be held in the U.S., which was the presidency last year, presided over by President Donald Trump last summer, but was canceled in the aftermath of the coronavirus.
