Himedik.com – In order to test its effectiveness vaccine, British researchers are reportedly planning to infect corona virus Covid-19 on purpose volunteer.

Launch from Independent, the test will be named the Challenge Trial which is expected to begin in January at a London quarantine facility. At least about 2000 participants have registered themselves. This registration is done through an advocacy group in the United States, namely 1Day Soone.

The study will reportedly be government-funded and led by researchers at Imperial College London. The British government confirmed that it is still in the process of talking about a human trial test.

“We work with partners to understand how we can collaborate on development the Covid-19 vaccine potential through the study of human challenges, “said a British government spokesman as quoted by the Independent.

“This discussion is part of our work to research ways to treat, limit and hopefully prevent the virus so we can end the pandemic sooner,” he added.

Meanwhile, Imperial College London still has not confirmed its involvement in this trial.

The trials to be carried out in the United Kingdom must be approved by the Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). However, the MHRA has yet to respond.

In the report Financial Times, the volunteers in the study would first be inoculated with the vaccine and then receive a dose of coronavirus infection. Even so, it has not been stated which potential vaccines will be involved in this study.

Potential vaccine makers such as AstraZeneca and Sanofi say their vaccine candidates are not involved in the program.
