UK scandal: Johnson criticized for celebrating first ‘arcade’ – Overseas – News

ITV has released a leaked e-mail inviting them to “enjoy socially distant drinks” in May 2020 in the Prime Minister’s Downing Street office and residence garden.

Opposition politicians have already called on the police to investigate the matter.

The e-mail was sent to dozens of recipients by the Prime Minister’s private secretary Martin Reynolds, urging him to take his drinks with him.

The event was scheduled for May 20, 2020, the same day the government reminded residents at a press conference that they could only meet one person outside their household.

The London Metropolitan Police issued reminders of these rules that day.

During Britain’s first home session, which began in March 2020, gatherings were banned, with a few exceptions for work and funerals.

The Johnson Conservative government has repeatedly been accused of violating rules it has imposed on others.

The latest charges will be investigated by senior official Sue Gray. The government has entrusted her with investigating past allegations that Johnson’s office staff held Christmas parties in 2020 in violation of house rules.

Johnson has previously claimed that he did not personally break the rules, but the broadcaster and other media reported on Tuesday that the prime minister and his wife, Carrie Johnson, had attended the May 2020 Garden Festival.
