Discussions regarding the fires, of which 119 were under control in 32 provinces and continued at 7 different points in 3 provinces, continue. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) have been criticized for being late and slow in responding to fires in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Central Anatolian regions.
The focus of criticism is the insufficient number of firefighting aircraft in Turkey and the existing ones waiting in hangars. The government, on the other hand, claims that these planes are unusable.
While the discussions on THK’s planes continued, a remarkable post came from the veteran journalist Uğur Dündar regarding the ongoing fires and airplane discussions.
Dundar, who published a drawing of fire extinguishers on his Twitter account, dropped the note “This is the case” on his post.
