UGM students suspected of suicide, jumping from the hotel to the 11th floor

A male student from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) with the initials TSR (18) would have committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor of the Porta Hotel, Bulaksumur, Sleman, DI YogyakartaSaturday (8/10) afternoon.

Bulaksumur Police Chief Kompol Sumanto said he received a report from a Porta Hotel guest that he allegedly fell from the 11th floor around 3:30 pm WIB.

“Yes, (suspected of committing suicide). The problem was that the employee (the hotel) was warned first. He is near the fence, do not jump, the information was remembered,” Sumanto said once confirmed.

Sumanto said his group coordinated with Sleman police and Bhayangkara hospital for the identification process. The results of the interim examination obtained the identity of the victim.

“As for the full identity, we don’t know yet. What is clear is that the initial information was that of one of the UGM students,” he said.

Additionally, Sumanto said her group found a JIH hospital certificate relating to the psychological condition of the victim’s purse.

“But while we’re still investigating the cause, why it suddenly fell off the 11th floor,” he said.

According to Sumanto, the victim’s body has now been evacuated to Bhayangkara hospital for further identification.

“Whether (the victim) stays (at the hotel) we don’t know exactly, but what is clear is the guest,” he said.
