UDLAP & Inbal co-Production Brings Ravel’s “The Child and the Spells” to CENART Stage
Mexico City, mexico – June 26, 2025 – A collaborative operatic production of Maurice Ravel‘s The Child and the Spells (L’enfant et les sortilèges) will grace the Teatro de las Artes at CENART in mexico City on June 28th and 29th. The production is a joint effort between the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) and the estudio de Ópera de Bellas Artes (EOBA) [SOURCE].
This performance showcases the talent of UDLAP students and graduates, combining professional training with artistic quality. Assistant management of the production, Cristóbal Meza Alonso, a UDLAP theater graduate, noted the rapid growth of the opera, assembled in just one month following initial proposals in april and pre-expensive functions in March [SOURCE].
Nine UDLAP students from the dance and music programs, alongside two graduates, are participating in the production, offering invaluable professional experience [SOURCE].
The production boasts a strong artistic team, including Ignacio González Cano (artistic direction), Cassandra Zoé Velasco (vocal direction), and Andrés Sarre (musical direction). Costume design is by Joanna Nogueiras Yankelevich, with assistance and choreography from UDLAP graduates Cristóbal Meza Alonso and Zaira israde Burrola [SOURCE].
