UCSF Health Achieves National Recognition for Extraordinary Patient Care – Again
San Francisco, CA – For teh fourth consecutive year, UCSF Health has been lauded for its commitment to delivering top-tier patient care, earning a prestigious ranking in the 2025 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking by Vizient, Inc., a leading healthcare performance advancement company.
UCSF Health secured the 10th position out of 118 academic medical centers participating in the Vizient study – a testament to its consistently high standards. The ranking is based on the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, an annual assessment now in its 20th year, which rigorously evaluates hospitals across six key domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness, and consistency of care. The study incorporates data from the Vizient Clinical Data Base, patient surveys (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems), and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network.
“This honor affirms what so many of us see every day: that UCSF Health has exceptional people fully focused on exceptional care for all of our patients,” stated Suresh gunasekaran, President and CEO of UCSF Health. “We work hard every day to ensure that we deliver the highest quality,patient-centric care across all of our clinical services, our many campuses and throughout the communities we serve.”
