Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla takes place in the north

There is clarity about the scenario of the next Assassin’s Creed. To introduce the action game, the Australian artist Kode “Bosslogic” Abdo on the official channels of Ubisoft – among others mixer, Youtube and Twitch – created a graphic live for several hours on April 29, 2020 in the stream.

The picture shows in the middle the silhouette of a Viking with a battle ax. Ships are on the left, a hilly landscape with northern ruins with castle ruins and warriors can be seen on the right. The graphics match the viking scenario of the next Assassin’s Creed that has been rumored for some time. Ubisoft has now officially announced that the game is subtitled Valhalla.

The publisher has so far given no further information on the content of the game. On April 30, 2020 at 5 p.m. German time, a first trailer is to be released.

According to the previous leaks, the world of Valhalla is said to extend from York in Great Britain to Kiev and be divided into several kingdoms. The campaign is set to begin with the Vikings’ siege of Paris. This is historically guaranteed: Wikipedia names the years 885 and 886 as the date, but according to the information leaked so far, the game begins in 845.

The main character may be a north man or a north woman named Jora – the player should be able to choose the gender at the start. Furthermore, there should be larger talent trees than in previous series parts, and also a kind of class system.

Of course, a Viking adventure cannot do without shipping. In Valhalla, the focus is less on naval battles than in the 2018 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and more on exploring new areas, including rivers and swamps.

According to the leaks, the game is scheduled to be released for Xbox One and Playstation 4 towards the end of September 2020, and with the appearance of the new consoles for Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. At least on the Xbox platform, there should be a free upgrade . A version for Windows PC has not yet been mentioned. However, it would be astonishing if Ubisoft omits this platform.

Addendum from April 29, 2020, 10:30 p.m.

Ubisoft has officially announced after the completion of Bosslogic’s picture that the next Assassin’s Creed will be played by the Vikings and will have the additional title Valhalla. We have revised the report accordingly and added the date for the first trailer.
