Uber launches in Concepción and its surroundings the new Uber Promo modality, that allows users of the platform to request trips at a lower price at times of less movement.
It is an alternative to move around the city at a lower price, but with the same safety and quality standards of UberX rides.
Uber Promo will be available at Concepción, Tomé, Talcahuano, Penco, Chiguayante, Coronel, Hualqui, Lota, and other surrounding areas, as an additional option so that driving partners can generate profits and so that users can request a trip at a lower cost.
“Through Uber Promo, which offers trips at a cheaper price, we want to encourage those people who have to leave their homes in Concepción, Talcahuano and its surroundings, to do so at low-traffic hours and thus help avoid crowds” said Alberto Vignau, General Manager of Uber Chile.
To use this new option, just open the Uber application, enter the place of origin and destination, and choose the Uber Promo option among the mobility alternatives, which will only be available during off-peak hours.
On the platform, it is also possible to find other options for daily mobility and delivery needs, such as sending items through Uber Flash, buying prepared food through Uber Eats and a supermarket, made at
through Cornershop.
Health and safety measures
All trips made in Uber Promo will have the security standards of the Uber app.
In the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic, Uber incorporated various measures to help prevent the spread of the virus on all trips made through the app.
One of them corresponds to the mask verification by the driving partners, who have to confirm its use through a selfie before connecting to the platform.
They must also confirm that they have followed
safety and hygiene such as hand cleaning and vehicle sanitation, for which driver members have access to exceptional rebates on the purchase of alcohol
gel, disinfectants and other personal protection elements.
Also, when traveling with Uber Promo, all the functions of the platform’s Security Center will be available, that allows you to contact 911 in any emergency and configure “trusted contacts”, so that users and driver partners can easily share the location of their trips in real time.
They will also have the latest safety functions launched such as Ridecheck technologies, to detect unexpected stops through GPS, and PIN, a four-digit code that allows confirming the correct trip between users and driver partners.
Additionally, all trips with Uber Promo will have personal accident and civil liability insurance coverage provided by Seguros SURA, as well as the rest of the trips requested through the app in Chile.
