Uber fires another 3,000 workers and closes 45 offices, generating uncertainty among investors
Uber has cut 25% of its global workforce in the past two weeks after cutting another 3,000 jobs.
Last week the trucking company informed 3,500 people who worked in customer service and recruiting across the country that it would be their last day working for Uber in a video call that lasted three minutes.

“Given the dramatic impact of the pandemic, and the unpredictable nature of any eventual recovery, we are concentrating our efforts on our core mobility and delivery platforms and resizing our business to match the realities of our business,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO. Uber in a statement.
As part of the spending cuts, Uber will close 45 offices around the world.
Uber has also stopped nonessential projects like Uber AI Labs. The company is focusing on its food delivery service, UberEats, which could soon merge with Grubhub.
Uber shareholders rebel against CEO
