UAE Aims to Explore Venus and Asteroid Belt After Mars Mission

After launching an exploratory mission to Mars, now the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is again planning to carry out a space mission to Venus and the asteroid belt.

As reported CNET, Thursday (7/10), the mission will be held in 12 years. Deputy Emir of the UAE, Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid, who immediately announced the planned exploration mission to Venus and the asteroid belt.

According to Rashid, the UAE space mission to orbit Venus and observe the asteroid belt is planned to run in 2028. He said the process of building a space probe will take seven years, and the distance that will be covered is estimated to be more than 3.6 billion kilometers.

“The UAE is eager to contribute in space exploration, scientific research and how we can understand the solar system we live in,” tweeted Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed.

The UAE plans to observe seven objects in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The region is filled with rocks of various shapes that also revolve around the Sun.

The United States Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has also studied the asteroid belt several times. However, the UAE said it plans to explore seven asteroids and land and take rock samples.

If that happens, then the UAE will become the fourth country in the world to successfully land on the surface of an asteroid which is quite difficult to do.

“This mission is five times more difficult than the Mars mission,” said the Head of the UAE Space Agency, Sarah bint Yusuf Al Amiri in a press statement.

The UAE has again collaborated with the University of Colorado’s Laboratory of Atmospheric and Space Physics, Boulder, United States to carry out missions to Venus and the asteroid belt, as reported by the United States. CNN.

A number of countries and space agencies are already intending to explore Venus. NASA is reportedly planning to launch two space probes to the planet.

Meanwhile, the Indian and European space agencies (ESA) are each preparing a vehicle to carry out a mission to observe Venus.
