Sweden fixed a lossless genre rope for the European Championships. After 27-21 against Norway, the U20 men took home the overall victory in the Scandinavian Open.

– We are very happy with the collection and overall a very strong performance, not least considering that we had nine debutants in the squad. It feels hopeful before the European Championships, said national team captain Dennis Sandberg to handbollslandslaget.se.

Sweden dismissed the worst opponents, in reverse order during the competition days in Hamar.

Group runner-up Iceland fought back to a draw after the blue and yellow shooter stagnated at the end. A total of 35 hits were of course clearly approved attack rate and 60 minutes and Felix Möller was mainly with nine goals.

The U20 national team had better control of Denmark in Wednesday’s match. Mikael Helmersson completed an early move to 6-3 and the opposition could only scratch themselves helpfully. The duel became closer after the break, but this time Sweden took the baton in the end. Assar Kammenhed was behind two of the goals in the sprint that decided to 31-28.

Sweden then doubled the margin of victory against Norway. Once again, the derby competitor caught up after the national team took care of the lead. The tempo increase came in the middle of the second half. With a combined defense and good goalkeeping, the last quarter of SOC ended 7-2, to a total victory.

– We are very pleased with the victory against Denmark where we really show that we can compete with the best teams in Europe. Then we make a nice finish against Norway where we win comfortably. The team did a good tournament, Sandberg told the national team’s official website.

The European Championships start in Portugal on July 7, Sweden meets Montenegro in the premiere.
