Manager Indonesian U-19 National Team Endri Erawan hopes that the AFF will investigate the match Vietnam vs Thailand allegedly unfair play.
“It seems the team doesn’t want to score goals. That’s the information that has been heard. I hope there will be an investigation from the AFF on the league,” said Endri Erawan.
“If the AFF says it’s fair, that’s fine. But if it’s not fair, it’s appropriate to have a disqualification sanction,” he said.

The Garuda Nusantara squad failed to advance to the semifinals of the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup because they finished third in Group A’s final standings with 11 points.
A landslide victory with a score of 5-1 over Myanmar at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Sunday (10/7), was unable to lead Indonesia to qualify because the Vietnam vs Thailand duel drew 1-1.
Thailand and Vietnam who advanced to the semifinals also won 11 points. Both countries have the right to qualify for the next phase because of their superior goal productivity over Indonesia.
However, the Vietnam vs Thailand duel was less exciting in the final 15 minutes when the position was 1-1.
Each camp seemed to linger holding the ball in their respective areas without the initiative to attack.
The U-19 national team coach Shin Tae Yong also regretted the unsportsmanlike actions shown by Vietnam and Thailand. He considered the AFF regulations strange and detrimental to Indonesia.
“Indeed, the head-to-head in a situation like this has disappeared, yes. This AFF regulation is strange. We don’t pass, it doesn’t make sense,” said Shin Tae Yong.
He regretted that Thailand and Vietnam did not appear to be playing optimally in the final 15 minutes of the second half when the position was already 1-1. He said it was unsportsmanlike.
“Should fight [Thailand dan Vietnam] indeed doing fair play at a time like this. It’s not really like that,” he said.
