A one-and-a-half-year-old boy from Tychy in the Silesian Voivodeship went to the Upper Silesian Child Health Center in Katowice. A child with a severe neck cut was operated on for several hours. The CZD spokesman, Wojciech Gomułka, said after 10 p.m. that the boy’s condition was difficult but stable.

According to the findings of the services, the child was injured in an apartment at Honoraty Street, in one of the housing estates in Tychy (Silesia). Firefighters, ambulance service and the police went to the rescue, and a helicopter from the Polish Medical Air Rescue was also called.

A spokeswoman for the Silesian fire brigade, junior brigadier Aneta Gołębiowska reported that “firefighters and paramedics took part in stopping the bleeding from a cut wound on the boy’s neck”. Before transport by helicopter, the rescuers had to stabilize the wounded. The child – according to the information given by the police – was conscious.
