The eastern police district received assistance from the emergency squad to find and arrest the suspect.
– There is now a situation that is a bit demanding for us, because we try to get in touch and take care of him in the best possible way, said police task force leader Arild Skarø before the arrest.
He stressed that the police had full control over the situation and would enter into dialogue with suspects to resolve the situation peacefully.
Police attorney Camilla Ek Sørensen tells VG just after midnight that the arrest went smoothly.
The accused man in his 30s is charged with attempted murder. He is not well known to the police from before.
– Out of great danger
The two stabbed are both in their late teens, the police inform VG at 20.20.
– They are out of great danger, says task leader Arild Skarø.
The air ambulance transported one of them to Ullevål University Hospital in Oslo, while the other was taken by ambulance to Ahus in Lørenskog.
– One has moderate injuries. It is more serious for the other, he was operated on tonight and is badly injured, but the condition must be stable, says Ek Sørensen.
The police are working at the scene to gather witnesses and clarify what happened.
– We will work with interrogations and with securing electronic tracks throughout the night. At the same time, we are working to map out the further circumstances, police attorney Ek Sørensen continues.
The police operations manager can not say anything about the relationship between the stabbed and the suspect.
– We also do not know the background for why the two are injured, Vesttorp says.
According to Ek Sørensen, it is not known that there is to be any relationship between the accused and the offended.
Think they’ve found the weapon
Immediately before the arrest, the police used a megaphone to contact suspects.
Afterwards, Skarø said that the police are very happy with the outcome.
– We have control over the person we tried to get in touch with. He is now taken care of by us and is checked by ambulance personnel, says Skarø.
He says that the suspected perpetrator is being taken into police custody for questioning and to find out what happened.

The police did not enter the apartment where the suspect was.

Basketak on the street
Witnesses tell NRK that the situation started when a woman came out of a building, followed by a man with a knife.
Two young men on the street allegedly tried to break in to stave off a stabbing, and a fight broke out.
VG has also received information about such a course of events, but the police can not yet confirm the information.

A neighbor tells VG that she heard noise and screaming outside.
