The two teenage girls were on a bicycle together when they were shoveled by the driver last night at the intersection of Westerparklaan with Heilaarpark. The driver of the car is a 31-year-old man from Breda.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, the police say. It is unclear whether the driver is stuck.
Badly injured
The girls were both seriously injured after the collision. The condition of one of them is worrisome, the police say. The girls have been transferred to hospitals in Breda and Rotterdam.

Last year also fatal accident
According to Omroep Brabant, it happened at exactly the same place last year another fatal accident. The 28-year-old Sten Ideler from Etten-Leur was then killed after being hit on his bicycle by a taxi driver from Oosterhout.
The taxi driver was driving at high speed on Westerparklaan. Shortly after the accident, the victim died of his injuries.
According to the court, the taxi driver displayed ‘very careless and inattentive driving behavior’. Last summer, the driver was sentenced to 240 hours of community service and a three-year driving ban, of which 1 year conditional.
