NEW YORK – Authorities are investigating the deaths of two newborn babies who were found wrapped in brown paper in the courtyard of a Bronx building Monday afternoon, NYPD officials said.
According to police, the superintendent of the multi-story building on College Avenue in the Concourse section found the baby boys, believed to be only a week old each, in the yard just before 2 p.m.
Both babies were pronounced dead shortly after they were found.
It was unclear who left them there or how they may have died. Police are searching the area for surveillance video for possible clues.
