Two new deaths bring the death toll from covid in Galicia to 3,929


Active cases rise to 2,468 and hospitalized patients too, up to 169, nine in intensive care

The number of deaths from covid in Galicia rises to 3,929, after recording two new deaths in the last few hours, two men aged 79 and 94, one in the A Corua-Cee health area and another in Ferrol. Both had pre-existing conditions.

Meanwhile, active cases had risen to 2,468 patients (391 more), according to the latest data released by the Department of Health as of 6pm Thursday. The same goes for hospitalized patients, who go from 159 to 169, nine of whom are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to the latest update, 541 of the active cases correspond to the A Corua area, 286 to that of Lugo; 424 to that of Ourense; 278 to that of Pontevedra; 372 to that of Vigo; 366 to that of Santiago and 198 to that of Ferrol.

In the last few hours, 253 cases have been opened in Galicia, six fewer than the data provided the previous day. In the area of ​​A Corua there were 59; in Ferrol, 18; in Lugo, 27; in Orense, 43; in Pontevedra, 28; in Santiago, 32 and in Vigo, 46.

Of the total positive patients, nine are in intensive care and 160 in hospitalization units and 2,299 at home. In the case of A Corua and Cee, there are 60 in the ward and four in intensive care; in Ferrol, 17 on the floor and in Lugo-A Maria-Monforte de Lemos, 13.
