The Los Angeles Instances quoted Michelle Pulido, a spokeswoman for the Watsonville Police Division, as stating that around 3:00 p.m. on the 18th, two planes making ready to land at Watsonville Municipal Airport collided. The San Jose Mercury News, citing witnesses, mentioned the issue of impact of the two planes was about 60 meters higher than the ground.
Watsonville Municipal Airport is situated approximately 26 kilometers east of Santa Cruz. Pictures produced by the Watsonville metropolis authorities and US media clearly show that a plane crashed into the airport hangar and one more airplane crashed into open up house.
The FAA claimed a person and two people had been aboard the Cessna 152 one-motor airplane and the Cessna 340 twin-engine plane which collided. The town of Watsonville reported on social media platforms that several individuals have been killed in the incident. The FAA did not confirm the loss of life toll, but stated there were being no injuries on the floor.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the Countrywide Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
