Two large outbreaks detected in Caracas by covid-19

The mayor of Caracas, Érika Farías, reported this Sunday that two large sources of covid-19 infections were detected in the El Valle-Coche axis, which represents the area most affected by the pandemic in the capital city.

Farías indicated that these foci are due to the great mobility that is concentrated in these places: the municipal car market and the Valles del Tuy train system.

«In the Valle-Coche Axis, there are two major foci. One is the wholesale car market, where a commercial activity is generated, and the other is the train system that goes to the racetrack, ”Farías said during the activity.

In this sense, he explained that in these two areas disinfection work will be carried out to cut the chain of transmission of the virus.

For his part, the head of State, Nicolás Maduro, pointed out that “today we have the maximum peak of infections in Caracas”, after 399 new infections were detected by the outbreak.

Likewise, he highlighted that festive meetings are the main source of contagion of covid-19 in Venezuela. “Celebrations and family gatherings are the main source of contagion in Venezuela (…) Where is the coronavirus being transmitted? On birthdays, at family gatherings, on the rumbas. Everyone who goes to a rumba gets infected and arrives and infects his family (…) What a fight! And people do not understand, “he said.

Venezuela has registered a rebound in infections by the new coronavirus, especially in the central area of the country (Capital District, Miranda and La Guaira); reason for which the President called for compliance with the rules of social distancing.

Since March, the Bolivarian Government issued a decree in which special measures are established to stop the spread of the virus, among which is the prohibition of crowds of people, parties, gatherings and religious activities.

To date, the country registers a total of 33,755 positive cases of COVID-19, of which 22,700 have been recovered, which is equivalent to 67% of the total cases.
