Allenby Bridge – Two Israeli men were shot and killed Thursday near the Allenby/King hussein Bridge crossing between the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Jordan, according to the Israeli military and medical officials. The incident occurred when an assailant opened fire, arriving in a truck that had been transporting humanitarian aid from Jordan, the military stated.
The victims, reported by Israeli media, were approximately 20 and 60 years old. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) responded to the scene. Security forces killed the attacker at the scene, the military confirmed.
The allenby Bridge, located roughly halfway between Amman and Jerusalem, serves as the sole direct crossing point between the West Bank and Jordan, and the only West Bank entry point that bypasses Israel. Dozens of trucks utilize the crossing daily, delivering goods to markets in both the West Bank and Israel.

Following the Thursday shooting, Israeli authorities closed the crossing, as reported by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Jordan and Israel maintain diplomatic, trade, and security ties, despite Jordan’s consistent criticism of Israeli policies toward Palestinians. the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
