Police received a report of a shooting just after 10 p.m. and several units arrived on the scene. An air ambulance has also been dispatched. It is not yet clear what exactly happened. Police have not yet identified any suspects.

Violent incidents are more frequent in the street. For example, a 26-year-old man died in January 2020 while shooting a video clip. And in November 2018, a student was injured by a stray gunshot. Students from the adjacent Spinoza campus previously said to The Parool to feel unsafe due to, among other things, burglaries and threats.
