Two homeless men are found dead on the NYC subway | Univision 41 New York WXTV

Two homeless people were found lifeless in subway cars in New York this weekend, local media reported.

The restrictions of social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic that is raging in the state have made the problem that homeless residents in the city face, who take shelter in the subway cars, more evident.

The first victim was found Friday at 7:30 p.m. when MTA officials cleaning the C train at the north terminal on 168th Street, local newspaper reported Daily news. It was a man in his 57s who probably died of natural causes.

The publication also reported that a second victim was spotted at 8:30 a.m. on the other side of town in a car on Line 4 at the Utica Avenue station in Brooklyn. In this case, the victim was a 61-year-old dead man.

On the other hand, public transport workers told the New York The Post that the two deaths are a symptom of the persistent presence of homeless people in the city’s subway system.

“The situation of the homeless is out of control,” he told the Post a train operator who would only identify himself as Eddie, who bumped into the body on Train C on Friday. “You don’t even know if the man died of coronavirus.”
