Two goats near Freiburg possibly torn by wolf – Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Wuerttemberg. Two goats were torn by a larger animal in the night of Saturday near Münstertal (district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald). It could be a wolf.

The bite marks indicate, according to experts from the Forest Research and Research Institute (FVA), that the goats fell victim to a “large prey”, a dog or a wolf, as the Environment Ministry in Stuttgart announced on Saturday.

Wolf fell into a photo trap a few days ago

It will only be the result of the genetic examination of the smears of the attacker’s saliva taken from the goats, whether it was actually a wolf. Just a few days ago, a photo of a wolf had also been taken in the area of the municipality of Schluchsee in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, the ministry said.

The livestock associations as well as the wildlife officers of the districts were informed about the current incident and asked to report observations to the FVA in Freiburg.
