Two films from Malayalam have been selected for the competition section of the 25th IFFK International Film Festival. Churuli directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and comedy directed by Jayaraj were selected. Kosa, a Hindi film directed by Mohit Priyadarshini, and Akshay Indikar’s Marathi film Chhalicle Puran were selected for the competition. There are 12 films in the category of Malayalam cinema today.

(Prithvi Konanur; Kannada) and Laila Aur Saath Geet (Pushpendra Singh; Hindi) were selected in the Indian Cinema Now category.
The committee comprising Kamal, Beena Paul, Sibi Malayil, Rasool Pookutty, VK Joseph and C Ajoy selected the films for the ‘Kaleidoscope’ category. There are six films in this category. 1956- Central Travancore (Don Palathara; Malayalam), Biryani (Sajin Babu; Malayalam), Vasanthi (Shinos Rahman, Sajas Rahman; Malayalam), Mayar Johnjal (Indrani Roy Chaudhary; Bengali), Illiralare Allige Hogalare (Girish Karep); Up & Up (Govind Nihalani; English) were selected for the ‘Kaleidoscope’ category.
The film festival will be held from February 12 to 19.
