Two DeLorean Found Abandoned 40 Years Ago | THE IMPARTIAL

In the 1980s DeLorean DMC-12 cars were very popular, especially after one was used in the Back to the Future movies. These cars were created by John DeLorean who resigned from General Motors and decided to make his own car brand, however, it went bankrupt in 1982.

That’s why finding a DeLorean today is something that many wish would happen to them. Luckily for a classic car collector, he found two DeLoreans that were abandoned in a barn in Lake Elsinore, a town in Southern California; the cars had been abandoned for 40 years.

Reed Nichols decided to put on sale the DeLorean DMC-12, a model with which Doctor Emmett Brown, a character from Back to the Future, traveled through time. The cars are for sale through Market Place, a Facebook ad platform.

Now that they are for sale, it is expected that someone will acquire them so that they can restore them and they will be like new. According to the publication on Facebook, both cars were manufactured in March 1981, they have very low mileage, one of them with 2,600 kilometers and the second with 22 kilometers.

The DeLoreans are in good condition, although they are a bit dirty from being abandoned for a long time. The buyer mentions that one of the cars has a problem with the driver’s side door, something that can be seen in the photos uploaded to Fecebook, says Milenio.

Other characteristics of these cars is that both have manual transmissions, something that makes them 2 seconds faster to reach 100 km / h than those DeLorean DMC-12 that have an automatic gearbox.

The two cars are sold together, something the seller has specified. The DeLorean is priced at $ 50,000; These had been abandoned since 1981, just four years before the film starring Michael J. Fox was released.
