The two deceased are both from the municipality of Hoogeveen. The vast majority of new infections were registered in the municipality of Emmen (41), followed by Hoogeveen (23) and Midden-Drenthe (12).
The number of new infections is lower than the day before. Then 147 new patients and three hospital admissions were reported. No deaths were reported at the time.

Current hospital figures
At the moment, 32 Drenthe patients are in the Drenthe hospitals, 9 of whom are in intensive care. This is reported by the Acute Care Network Northern Netherlands.
There are also patients from other regions in the hospitals in Drenthe. Today there are 41, 21 of whom are in intensive care.
“The numbers of corona patients in this overview are particularly dynamic numbers. They provide the data for one reference moment, in the morning. In the afternoon the numbers are often different. Numbers sometimes change per hour,” says the care network.

Between yesterday morning and this morning, 8,764 new corona cases were reported to the RIVM. That is a new day record. On Tuesday, the health institute reported 8,175 positive tests. Initially there were 8,182, but that was adjusted on Wednesday.
The number of deaths caused by Covid-19 increased by 59 in the past 24 hours. That does not mean that all of these people have died in the past 24 hours. This information is sometimes passed on to RIVM with some delay. Yesterday, the researchers reported that 46 people had recently died from the coronavirus.
