Twitter rolls out a new look on apps and the web

Merdeka.com – The social network Twitter is rolling out a new font called Chirp on both the app and the web version. Users who are used to scrolling through the Twitter timeline must see something different from the posts that appear on Twitter.

Yes, that’s because the font changed to Chirp, so don’t be surprised if when you just wake up in the morning and open Twitter, how come the font has changed not like last night.

Citing The Verge, Thursday (12/8) information about the change in Twitter’s font had previously been announced by Twitter through their official account.

Uniquely, most users have seen the font change in their Twitter application, but there are others who have not felt this font change. Twitter detailed, the Chirp font is one part of their brand refresh.

“Chirp balances a disheveled and sharp look to amplify the fun and sharpness of a tweet. But (font) Chirp also brings seriousness when needed,” Twitter said in a blog post.

Back then, Twitter was using the Chirp font for promotional materials and graphics. However this font is not yet visible in the feed or when navigating the app.

Twitter’s Global Brand Creative Director Derrit DeRouen said in January that it was his “personal desire” to make Chirp the default font for Twitter products.

At that time, DeRouen did not mention when the company would roll out the use of the Chirp font to all users. This new Twitter font is also unique, where users can tweet the Twitter logo if they type [CHIRPBIRDICON] in the status column. In the Android version of the Twitter application, this can already be done, as well as on the Twitter web.

For your information, according to Twitter, the font is not the only change in the appearance of Twitter.

“We’ve also updated colors with higher contrast and much bluer. This change was made to draw attention to the photos and videos you share,” Twitter said in the thread it posted. [faz]
