Employee Chirping he complained about the condition of the office which was getting dirty and dirty afterwards Elon Musk lay off the cleaning service or cleaning staff. In fact, many employees are forced to bring their own toilet paper from home.
Musk recently fired a cleaner working at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, US, as a massive cost-saving measure. The layoffs came after cleaners went on strike to demand better pay.
However, the absence of cleaning staff at the Twitter office immediately made the situation unfavorable. Twitter employees told The New York Times that their office was now tainted with an unpleasant smell of leftover food and body odor.
The bathroom and toilet were dirty as nobody cleaned them. Some employees even had to bring their own toilet paper from home as there was no housekeeping staff to replace the supply of tissues.
Twitter itself still has to pay the rent for its San Francisco headquarters. Moss then it moved all employees to two floors and closed the other four floors.
The social media company has also stopped paying rent for its Seattle office and faces eviction. They also fired cleaners and security guards at one of its New York offices.
Another lifesaving effort made by Musk is to shut down one of Twitter’s data centers in Sacramento, California. Although Twitter employees have warned that this step will make the service suboptimal, as quoted by the New York Times, Sunday (1/1/2023).
On Christmas Eve, Musk said Chirping it still works normally even after unplugging one of the sensitive rack servers. However, Twitter was down for several hours on Thursday, but the cause is unknown.
Overall, Musk is reportedly looking to cut $500 million in non-business expenses from Twitter’s budget. The former richest man in the world has in fact opened up about Twitter’s less than ideal financial condition.
