Twitter mob against “Emily in Paris” star – world

The Golden Globe nomination for “Emily in Paris” is causing a stir. Lead actress Lily Collin should only be nominated because she is white.

The waves have been rising in social networks for days because of “Emily in Paris”: The content of the series is discriminatory, as is its nomination. Main actress Lily Collins in particular is ridiculed, for her nomination a shit storm followed on Twitter: “Unmerited” writes one user, another says “cheap”.

No nomination for “I May Destroy You”

Above all, the fact that more demanding series such as Michaela Coel’s “I May Destroy You”, in which a black woman is the focus, came out empty-handed. The online trolls even claim that Collins was only nominated because she has a famous father (Phil Collins) – and because she is a “white woman”.

Now even Deborah Copaken, author of “Emily in Paris”, reacted. She publicly complained that “I May Destroy You” missed out on nominations.
