Twitch tightens advertising rules, angers streamers

At the same time, Twitch noted a list of products prohibited for advertising, such as weapons, cigarettes, or medicines. Other restrictions apply to erotic content and gambling.

All these restrictions are extremely pissed off an audience of streamers, many of whom have been thinking about moving to other platforms for some time.

The criticism was so strong that Twitch even had to apologize for its language in the announcement – but it is possible that irreparable damage has already been done. In addition, the service did not mark the items that it is going to cancel, so it is too early to talk about the conclusion regarding the whole situation.

In the past, Twitch has changed the financial rules for streamers, who now receive 50% of broadcasts, instead of 70%.
