Tweakers starts with a beta test for a Premium offer – IT Pro – .Plans

We asked in this post what you thought of Premium, and you have responded well. Thanks for that. Of course, we read all comments, criticisms, suggestions, concerns, etc., but unfortunately, it is impossible for us to respond individually. In the Premium discussion thread on the forum, Tweakers editor-in-chief Wout Funnekotter a comprehensive response given.

Tweakers will start on Tuesday with a beta test for a Premium offer. During the period of this test, users with an account who are logged in will have access to additional articles. These articles are in addition to the existing news and product reviews.

Tweakers has had subscriptions. In recent years, we have made taking out these subscriptions as easy as possible and made their content attractive with extras such as a magazine, subscriber badges, promotions, subscription days and priority ticket sales for events.

The aim of Tweakers is to offer more with subscriptions. As part of that commitment to add value, we now want to test a subscription around editorial articles. We think there is a large group of readers among you who are in need of additional articles. For them we had the Tweakers Magazine in the past three years, combined with the Hardware Info magazine, but like in September announced, that paper magazine will shut down in December.

Clarification and depth

We quickly inform you of current tech developments with news, and with our product reviews and round-ups we try to give you the best possible picture of the performance of products. We will of course continue to do so. In addition, so much is happening in the field of tech that there is room to inform you better about developments, for example with more depth and clarification, and with unique information that you cannot read elsewhere.

We invest in that. With an expansion of the editorial team with new editors and freelancers, and with changes to our working method. With Premium articles we want to inform you better every day, with news that brings more, by diving deeper into topics, talking to experts and adding information. Premium is not limited to news; we also want to inform you better about tech with technical background, how-to’s, columns and interviews.

Do you not need this? No problem. We will continue to bring news and product reviews as you are used to from us, for everyone, even without an account. And we will continue to listen to you and improve the offer.

Beta test for Tweakers Premium

Are you interested? That’s nice! We start with a beta period in which every user with an account who is also logged in will have unlimited access to all Premium items. If you don’t have an account yet, you can register to gain access. The test period gives us the opportunity to get feedback from as many users as possible and to work towards a range of articles that readers are satisfied with.

The Premium articles can be recognized on the front page by a striking badge. In the news listing they are behind the title, in larger stories they are prominently in the top left corner of the title. This way you can quickly scan whether items fall under the Premium offer or not. We would like to hear what you think of Premium, so that we can make Tweakers an even more beautiful, better, more extensive and deeper platform for the real tech enthusiast.
