Nova TV completed a three-part miniseries called The Roubal Case. In a story that revolves around one of the most brutal murderers in our history, the creators focused mainly on the investigator who unraveles his crimes. The project created exclusively for VOYO is full of acting stars.
The Roubal Case miniseries charts the story of one of the most brutal serial killers in our history. He killed at least five people in the 1990s. Roubala was played by Hynek Čermák.
“Originally, I didn’t want Ivan Roubal to be played by Hynek Čermák, because it seemed to me that it would occur to everyone, but he was so terribly good on the camera shows that his eyes could not be closed before,” said director Tereza Kopáčová.
“This role has a disadvantage, and that is to create it. It was more about preparing and dealing with who the psychopath is, but nowadays there are enough psychopaths,” said Čermák.
Another important character is policeman Jakub, played by David Švehlík. The model was a real investigator Jan Štoček, who managed to uncover a large part of serious criminal activity in the 1990s.
The star-studded miniseries was played by prosecutor Dagmar Havlová. She is said to have been thrilled by the role, despite the complexity of the text. “I consulted with my daughter, who is a judge. The text was the most difficult,” Havel confided.
