TV: Heavy victory for Juventus against Genoa

Juventus has had a tough start to the season. Before Sunday night’s meeting with Genoa at home, the white and blacks had only managed seven victories in 15 matches and were in seventh place in Serie A. Most recently, however, Juventus defeated the newcomer Salernitana away with 2-0.

When Genoa visited the Allianz Stadium in Turin, “Juve” continued on the positive trend and opened the match in a spectacular way.

In the ninth minute, Juventus worked out a corner. The right-back for the day, Juan Cuadrado, ran out to the corner flag to take it – but instead of poking someone’s forehead in the penalty area, Cuadrado screwed the ball directly into goal to make it 1-0.

Juventus were close to putting the equalizer away after 37 minutes as the opposing defense lost control of the ball to Matthijs de Ligt in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line.

Five minutes into the second half, Dybala was close. The Argentine received a pass outside Genoa’s penalty area and shot from a stationary position, but the ball bounced just over the crossbar.

But Dybala would get a dividend in the end. With just over ten minutes left to play the match, Federico Bernadeschi found Dybala in Genoa’s penalty area with an insert, whereupon Dybala took the ball with him and pulled on a finish that Sirigu could not keep out of the posts. 2-0 was a fact.

Despite 27-0 in goal chances in Juventus’ favor, the match ended “only” 2-0 to the home team. With the victory, they climb up to fifth place in Serie A with 27 points in 16 matches. Genoa, in turn, are in qualifying and have still not scored under new coach Andrei Shevchenko.

The Swedish national team striker Dejan Kulusevski played from the start and scored 90 minutes for the second time in a row in Serie A. However, he left the field without a goal or assist.

– He was okay. He was better in the first half, just like Juventus was. Then he slowed down, like the whole team. I demand more of Kulusevski, I demand that he beat his old man more and come to a better conclusion than he does. His posts were not always one hundred percent. I like Kulusevski, but I demand more, says Astrit Ajdarevic in C More’s studio.

– It is “almost” all the time. He gets to the positions, but the last assist does not sit properly. Throughout the season, the feeling has been there that he does not make the points required, and that makes him fall in the rankings, fills in expert colleague Vicki Blommé.

Startelvor:

Juventus: Szczesny – Cuadrado, de Ligt, Chiellini, Pellegrini – Locatelli, Bentancur – Kulusevski, Dybala, Bernadeschi – Morata.

Genoa: Sirigu – Biraschi, Bani, Vasquez – Ghiglione, Behrami, Hernani, Touré, Cambiaso – Bianchi, Ekuban.
