A 63-year-old woman was attacked in the Aldi supermarket in Wondelgem in East Flanders on Friday afternoon because she spoke to another woman about the fact that she was not wearing a mouth mask. The woman said she was from Turkey and therefore did not know the corona measures here. That reports The Latest News.

When the Turkish woman was queuing at the counter, the shop staff urged her to wear a mask. Then the situation escalated and hitting and kicking started. The 63-year-old victim, who was behind the woman, testifies in HLN.

“The woman replied that she did not know that it was mandatory to wear a mask in the store, since she is from Turkey”, says the woman. “Myself and other customers who were waiting said they should wear face masks there too, so it’s no excuse.”

But the Turkish woman did not just say that and reacted aggressively. “She replied that I had to stand one and a half of her, after which the customer behind me said that I was at least 2 meters away from her. Then she began to tape her messages with a lot of tame. She pushed my cart back several times. ”

However, it did not stop there. The situation quickly escalated. “The lady behind me said she had to hurry instead of selling cinema, because there were still many customers waiting to pay. Then it has become too much for her, she has given me a serious punch on my buttock, and my glasses and mouth mask have been knocked off my face. You can still see the scratches in my face. If the cashier hadn’t intervened, it would have been even worse. ”

The victim immediately asked to call the police, after which the Turkish woman put down her messages and immediately drove away. However, a cashier was able to write down her license plate, which allowed her to be identified by the police. She will certainly receive a GAS fine for not wearing a mask, the investigation of blows and injuries is ongoing.
