The new heavy oil field is located 32 kilometers east of the Nuseibin region in the southern province of Mardin.

A new oil field has been discovered on the Turkish-Syrian border. The Turkish national oil company TPAO announced this yesterday.

“A new field was discovered on the Turkish-Syrian border. During exploration at the Gunyurdu-1 well, which is located 32 kilometers east of the Nuseibin region in Mardin province, we discovered a heavy oil field with a density of 11.8 degrees on the API scale,” in a Twitter post.

The company also released a video from the site of the discovery of a new field.

It was previously reported that Turkey will build a gas pipeline to the field in the Black Sea. During the year, several gas fields were discovered there with reserves of hundreds of billions of cubic meters.
