Turkey crypto exchange collapsed, what about Indonesia?

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – One of the largest cryptocurrency exchangers in Turkey, Thodex, said it was unable to continue its operations after its founder took off his customers’ assets.

This condition makes hundreds of thousands of investors worry that their funds will disappear. Moreover, the Turkish authorities are also trying to find the founder of Thodex who fled the country.

Launching Bloomberg Friday (23/4/2021), this phenomenon raises confusion over how many Thodex customers are affected, and how much money has been lost.

Meanwhile, Thodex Chief Executive Officer Faruk Fatih Ozer promised to return the investors’ money and return to Turkey to solve the problems he had done. The government has also blocked company accounts and stormed the headquarters in Istanbul.

The loss was estimated at US $ 2 billion, according to the Haberturk newspaper. In addition, lawyers for the victims said the money invested by some 390,000 active users became non-recoverable.

However, both figures have been denied by Ozer. According to him, only 30,000 customers whose assets were affected.
