Turkey closes airspace to Russian aircraft flying to Syria

Turkey has closed airspace to Russian military and civilian aircraft flying to Syria.

This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, transmits TRT News.

“We closed the airspace for Russian military aircraft, and even for civilian aircraft that flew to Syria and took soldiers away. We gave permission for three months. They had permission until April,” he said.

Turkey and Deutsche Bank are in the final stages of negotiations for a billion euro loan to finance the purchase of liquefied natural gas, which will reduce the country’s dependence on Russian imports. Turkey is diversifying natural gas supplies and will now buy American LNG.
