Trump urges Russia to be cautious in Syria

The US President expressed concern over violence in northern Syria in a phone call to Turkish leader Erdogan. Trump sent a clear message to Vladimir Putin.

US President Donald Trump has advocated more reluctance in Russia Syria conflict pronounced. In an interview with the Turkish head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan Trump said after a White House announcement on Sunday (local time) the US wanted Russia to support “the regime’s atrocities” from Bashar al-Assad finish. He also advocated a political solution to the conflict.

In the fighting for the province of Idlib there have recently been clashes between Syrian government forces and units of the Turkish armed forces. This message was also sent to Russia, which supports the Syrian government.

Despite the tensions, a Turkish delegation will travel to Moscow on Monday to discuss the critical situation in Idlib. A Russian delegation was previously in Ankara. While Turkey supports Islamist rebels in the region, Moscow is at the side of the Syrian ruler Assad in the conflict.
