President Trump is considering pardoning his three children, his son-in-law and his lawyer. Not for penalties they have received, but for lawsuits they may risk. According to the American media, he has discussed this “preventive pardon” with his counselors. Trump wouldn’t be the first president to use the hotly contested weapon. But he is the first to use it to protect his own family against prosecution. He never even ruled out pardoning himself.
