The White House has been thinking for some time to have the population wear mouth masks. That policymakers are choosing to do so now is partly due to a new advice from the health service CDC, according to an internal memo that The Washington Post has read. Earlier, the CDC recommended that healthy people should not wear mouth masks.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has already instructed his residents to wear face masks on Thursday. He announced that measure during a press conference. Because there is a shortage of professional masks and other protective means, De Blasio advised to use a scarf.
