Trump rewards Morocco with sales of drones and rockets for recognition of Israel – ČT24 – Czech Television

Reuters reports that Trump wants to sell four MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones from the General Atomics workshop for flights over the sea and fleet protection to Moroccans. It is one of the first machines capable of flying unattended in high levels with long range. In November, Trump proposed their sale to the United Arab Emirates, which had also recognized the Jewish state shortly before. He also sold them to Taiwan in the fall.

Other items on the Moroccan list are said to be precisely guided munitions, namely the Hellfire, Paveway and JDAM types from Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Boeing. These can be fired from MQ-9B drones.

Trump’s government brought the biggest breakthrough in relations between Israel and the Arab states in a decade. She managed to convince Muslim conservative countries United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco to recognize and build relations with the Jewish state. She took advantage of the existence of a common enemy. All of these countries are Sunni and, like the United States and Israel, have conflicting relations with Shiite Iran aspiring to be a regional power.

The turnaround is the target of strong criticism from the Palestinians. They are striving to create their own state in the territories partially occupied by Israel, and the Arab states have so far unconditionally supported them in this.
