Donald Trump’s home in Florida should have been searched by the FBI, claims the former president in a statement on his own website, TruthSocial.
– These are dark times for our country when my beautiful home in Mar-a-Lago is now besieged, searched and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. This has never before happened to a president in the United States, writes the former president.
– As I have cooperated with the relevant authorities, this unannounced search was neither necessary nor appropriate, he writes further.
The FBI has for a long time been investigating the storming of Congress in January 2021. The reason for the search – and whether it is related to this investigation – has not been made public. But sources to both the news agency AP and The New York Times claims that the search must be related to Trump taking boxes of classified material from the White House with him when he resigned as president. Earlier this year, Trump returned 15 boxes after the National Archives threatened to take legal action.
The words Trump removed
Neither the FBI, the Ministry of Justice nor the White House have commented on the case.
Trump refers to the action as an attack from the radical left in the Democrats, and claims it is happening because they do not want him to run for president in 2024.

Trump should not have been on the property when the search took place, according to the report CNNwho has been in contact with Trump.
